소니코리아 방송장비 부문 B&P 사업부(bp.sony.co.kr)에서는 3개의 1/2 인치 타입 센서와 HD422 워크플로우를 채택하여, 뛰어난 화질과 무한한 창의적 표현이 가능한 PMW-200를 출시한다고 밝혔다.
PMW-200은 광범위한 제작 환경에서 다양한 용도를 인정받은 PMW-EX1R의 특장점을 계승한 제품이다. 넓은 화각과 더불어, 1/2인치 타입 센서는 어두운 조명 아래에서도 캠코더의 성능을 충분히 발휘할 수 있도록 한다. 소니의 뛰어난 센서 기술과 경험을 토대로 개발된 PMW-200은 3개의 1/2인치 타입 센서가 탑재된 4:2:2 50Mbps 코덱의 카메라로 영상 촬영 전문가들의 요구에 부응하고 있다.
현재 대부분의 핸드헬드 카메라가 1/3인치 타입 센서를 사용하는 것에 비해, PMW-200은 어두운 조명 아래에서도 뛰어난 디테일을 기록할 수 있는 감도와 보다 넓은 화각 및 풀 HD의 우수한 화질이라는 독보적인 성능을 제공한다. 물론, MXF 50Mbps/35Mbps, MP4 35Mbps/25Mbps 및 DVCAM과 같은 다양한 기록 포맷으로 광범위한 어플리케이션이나 워크플로우에도 적합하다.
PMW-200은 1fps부터 60fps까지의 강력한 ‘슬로우 앤드 퀵 모션(Slow & Quick Motion)’을 기본으로 탑재하여 사용자의 창의적인 영상 표현을 가능케 하며, 촬영 이후에도 컨버터 혹은 NLE(Non-Linear Editor)에서 즉각적으로 재생하고 편집할 수 있는 사용자 편의성을 제공한다.
PMW-200은 소니 XDCAM 제품군 중에서 가장 잘 알려져 있는 PMW-EX1R을 대체하며, 실재 모든 PMW-EX1R의 편의성과 성능을 유지하면서도 보다 뛰어난 화질을 위한 MPEG HD422 레코딩을 탑재한 더욱 진보된 사양을 자랑한다.
소니코리아 관계자는 “지금까지의 어떤 캠코더보다 다양한 촬영 조건에 대응할 수 있는 PMW-200을 선보이게 되었다”며 “PMW-200은 매우 우수한 화질, HD422의 워크플로우와 다양한 기능이 집약된 제품으로, 사용자는 업계에 이미 잘 알려져 있는 PMW-500 숄더 타입 캠코더와 완벽하게 어울리는 다양한 용도의 민첩하고 가벼운 솔루션을 얻게 될 것이다.”고 밝혔다.
PMW-200은 독립적인 줌, 포커스, 아이리스 링 메커니즘을 탑재한 14배 줌 렌즈가 탑재되어 있으며, 풀컬러 3.5 인치 타입 WVGA LCD 패널은 포커싱과 모니터링에 보다 용이하다. 15초의 캐시 레코딩을 포함한 모든 기능은 PMW-500 숄더 타입 캠코더의 기능을 그대로 포함하고 있다.
젠록과 타임코드 인터페이스로 멀티카메라 운용 및 엔트리 레벨 HD 스튜디오 운용이 가능하며, 소니의 SxS 카드뿐 아니라, 적절한 어댑터를 사용하여 SD 카드, 메모리 스틱, XQD 카드의 다양한 메모리 미디어를 선택할 수 있다. 새로 추가되는 Wi-Fi 리모트 컨트롤러는 현장과 스튜디오에서의 활용도를 극대화 시킬 것이다.
PMW-200은 방송, 영화, 뮤직 비디오, 드라마, 다큐멘터리 제작 등의 광범위한 제작 환경에 이상적인 제품으로, 2012년 9월부터 판매가 이루어질 예정이다. Wi-Fi 리모트 컨트롤 기능은 2012년 12월에 업데이트 예정이다.
