AMD와 HP, 티몬은 연말을 맞아 어려운 환경의 어린이들에게 노트북을 제공하는 소셜 기부 행사인 “아름다운 노트북”을 공동으로 펼친다고 금일 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 소셜 커머스 기업인 티켓몬스터(이하 티몬)에서 AMD E시리즈 APU가 탑재된 HP 노트북(HP 파빌리온14-B028AU) 100대가 판매될 때마다 1대씩 "세이브더칠드런(Save the Children)에 기부되는 것을 주요 내용으로 하고 있다. 기부된 노트북은 소외 계층의 어린이들에게 전달되어 어린이들이 다양한 경험과 정보를 습득할 수 있는 보다 좋은 IT 환경이 마련될 것으로 기대되고 있다.
기부를 통해 “아름다운 노트북”이 될 제품은 파빌리온14-B028AU으로 AMD의 CPU와 GPU가 하나의 칩에 통합되어 있는 최신 APU 기반 노트북이다. AMD 듀얼코어 E2-1800 프로세서가 탑재되었으며, 2GB DDR3 메모리, 14인치 LCD 스크린으로 구성되어 있다. 본 제품은 티몬에서 11월 15일부터 21일까지 399,000원(2GB 추가장착) ~ 429,000원(4GB 추가장착)에 판매될 예정이다.
권태영 AMD 코리아 대표이사는 "그동안 AMD는 국내 및 글로벌 시장에서 괄목할만한 성장을 해왔고, 이에 대한 감사의 의미로 사회 공익 활동에 참여하는 방안을 모색해왔다. 이번 활동은 AMD가 기업 시민(corporate citizen)으로서 행하는 사회 공익 활동을 위한 첫걸음이 될 것"고 말하면서, "AMD 칩이 탑재된 HP 노트북은 쾌적한 인터넷 사용환경을 제공할 뿐만 아니라, 다양한 동영상도 무리없이 플레이할 수 있어 소외 계층 어린이들의 정보습득 격차를 줄이는데 도움이 될 것이라 생각한다"고 덧붙였다.
