글로벌 PC기업 에이서(www.acer.co.kr)는 인텔 아톰 프로세서와 윈도우8 운영체제를 탑재한 하이브리드 태블릿 ‘아이코니아 탭 W510’을 출시했다. 에이서 아이코니아 탭 W510은 태블릿과 노트북의 특징을 동시에 갖춰 사용자의 필요에 따라 다양한 모드로 사용할 수 있다.
인텔의 새로운 아톰 프로세서 Z2760(코드명 클로버트레일, 1.50 GHz, 1MB L2 cache)을 탑재한 아이코니아 탭 W510은 부드러운 터치감과 빠른 반응 속도, 64GB SSD 저장장치와 2GB 메모리로 기존 태블릿과 비교되는 강력한 성능을 제공한다. 특히 윈도우8 운영체제를 탑재해 기존 윈도우에서 사용하던 애플리케이션을 모두 사용할 수 있다. 또한 윈도우 스토어에서 다양한 애플리케이션을 다운 받아 소셜 네트워크, 게임, 문서작성, 멀티미디어 등 다양한 기능을 사용할 수도 있다.

아이코니아 탭 W510은 키보드 도킹스테이션(옵션)에 장착해 노트북처럼 편리하게 입력할 수 있어 생산성을 극대화할 수 있다. 또한 키보드 도킹스테이션은 최대 295도 회전이 가능해 프리젠테이션 모드로도 활용할 수 있는 것이 특징이다. 모바일용 기기인 만큼 배터리와 무게에도 신경을 썼다. 배터리는 본체에 2셀 리튬폴리머, 키보드 도킹스테이션에 2셀 리튬폴리머를 사용해 키보드 도킹 시 최대 18시간을 사용할 수 있으며(본체만 사용 시 최대 8시간 가능), 본체는 10.1인치의 580g 초경량으로 이동성을 살렸다.
800만 화소의 HD 웹캠은 물론, 마이크로 USB와 마이크로 HDMI, SD카드 리더기, 블루투스 4.0 등 다양한 입출력포트를 갖춰 기존 태블릿에서는 실행하지 못했던 다양한 작업이 가능하다. 또한 G-센서 등 기존 태블릿에 내장된 모든 센서가 지원되어 네비게이션이나 모션 게임 등 다양한 방식으로도 활용할 수 있다. 화이트와 실버 컬러가 어우러진 세련된 외관 역시 장점이다.

에이서 동북아시아 총괄 밥 센(Bob Sen) 사장은 “에이서 아이코니아 탭 W510은 기존 태블릿의 강점에 윈도우 운영체제가 갖는 생산성을 동시에 갖춘 제품”이라며, “지난 11월 초 인텔과 마이크로소프트가 개최한 윈도우8 디바이스 데이에서 매우 호평 받은 제품으로, 학생 등의 일반 소비자뿐만 아니라 금융 종사자, 현장 관리자 등 전문직 종사자에게도 수요가 높을 것으로 예상한다”고 말했다.
에이서 아이코니아 탭 W510은 11월 21일부터 롯데닷컴을 통해 한정 수량 100대에 한해 단독 예약판매를 실시하며, 예약 구매자에게는 에이서 정품 가방, 키보드, 마우스 등의 사은품이 제공된다. 가격은 키보드 도킹스테이션 포함된 버전(ICONIA_W510_UMA2CssK_LT)이 899,000원, 키보드 도킹스테이션 미포함 버전(ICONIA_W510_UMA2Css_LT)이 799,000원이다.
