AMD/HP/티몬- 노트북 20대 세이브더칠드런에 기증

AMD 코리아는 HP 코리아, 티켓몬스터(이하 티몬)와 공동으로 어려운 환경의 어린이들에게 노트북을 제공하는 “아름다운 노트북” 1차 소셜 기부 행사를 성황리에 마치며 세이브더칠드런(Save the Children)에 총 20대의 노트북을 기증했다고 밝혔다.

지난 11월 15일부터 시작된 소셜 기부 행사는 소셜 커머스 기업인 티몬에서 AMD E시리즈 APU가 탑재된 HP 노트북(HP 파빌리온14-B028AU) 100대가 판매될 때마다 1대씩 세이브더칠드런에 기부하는 것을 주요 내용으로 하고 있다.

현재까지 총 2,000여대의 노트북이 판매되었고 이에 따라, 총 20대의 노트북이 세이브더칠드런에 기증되었다. 기부된 노트북은 소외계층의 어린이들이 보다 다양한 경험과 정보를 습득할 수 있는 좋은 IT 환경을 구현하는데 지원되어 어린아이들의 정보습득 격차를 줄이는 데 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

기부된 20대의 “아름다운 노트북”은 파빌리온 14-B028AU으로 AMD의 CPU와 GPU가 하나의 칩에 통합되어 있는 최신 APU 기반 노트북이다. AMD 듀얼코어 E2-1800 APU가 탑재되었으며, 2GB DDR3 메모리, 14인치 LCD 스크린으로 구성되어 있어 쾌적한 컴퓨팅 환경을 제공하고, APU의 특징인 뛰어난 그래픽 성능을 통해 인터넷이나 동영상을 활용한 멀티미디어 교육에도 적합하다.

권태영 AMD 코리아 대표이사는 "이번 공동 소셜 기부 행사는 AMD 코리아가 기업 시민(corporate citizen)으로서 사회 공익 활동에 참여하는 첫걸음을 내딛는 의미있는 행사였으며, 20대의 노트북을 기부할 수 있어 매우 기쁘게 생각한다”고 말하며, “성공적으로 이번 행사를 끝마칠 수 있도록 관심 가져준 모든 분들께 감사드리며, 앞으로도 AMD 코리아가 국내에서 더 많은 사회 공익 활동을 펼칠 수 있도록 노력을 아끼지 않을 것”이라고 강조했다.

이번 20대 기증으로 1차 행사를 마친 “아름다운 노트북” 소셜 기부 행사는 총 50대의 노트북 기부를 목표로 연장될 계획이며, 이에 따라 “아름다운 노트북”은 티몬에서 지속적으로 구매 가능하다.
