Image distortion is due to the difference in field of view rather than camera performance so the Inspire cannot be determined as having the better camera. However, in terms of the gimbal, resolution and colour, the Inspire camera outperforms its competition.

Walkera is working on a GoPro version of Voyager 3 to meet the needs of users who require high-end photography. Walkera is also planning to upgrade its 4K camera from 15p to 20p. A detailed evaluation of the cameras will be featured in the upcoming performance review.

When it comes to the batteries, Voyager 3 far exceeds Inspire 1. Inspire 1 comes with 22.2V, 4500mAh (99.9Wh) 6S flight battery. The 22.5V, 5700mAh (129.96Wh) heavy-duty battery is optional. According to DJI, the standard battery provides 18 minutes of continuous flight time.

Voyager 3 comes with 29.6V, 6000mAh (177.6Wh) 8S battery. The battery is marked 3000mAh, but this is due to overseas shipping regulations. Walkera claims their battery is capable of up to 25 minutes of continuous flight time, but considering the difference in battery size between the two models, the actual flight time difference is likely to be greater than specified. Details will be featured in the performance review.

Next is the flight performance comparison. Inspire 1 has maximum tilt angle of 35 degrees , maximum ascent speed of 5m/s, maximum descent speed of 4m/s, maximum speed of 22m/s (Attitude mode; no wind), maximum flight altitude of 4500m, and maximum wind speed resistance of 10m/s. Operating temperature is 0 to 40 degrees celsius. Flight controller operating range is up to 2km. Inspire 1 is powered by DJI 3510 motor.

No detailed information on Voyager 3 flight performance is available. However, in manual mode, Voyager 3 is capable of faster speed, while in GPS mode, the flight speed tends to be slower compared to Inspire 1. Operating temperature is minus 10 to 40 degrees celsius and flight controller operating range is 1-2km. Voyager 3 is powered by WK-WS-42-002 motor.

The biggest difference between the two quadcopter drones is the ¡®Vision Plus¡¯ feature. With a camera installed on the bottom of the aircraft and two ultrasound sensors, you can fly the Inspire indoors at stable positioning. Voyager 3, on the other hand, does not have this feature.

Next is comparison of the overall dimensions. Voyager 3 is both larger in size and heavier than Inspire 1. Voyager 3 is 473mm in length, 463mm in width, 300mm in height, and 3.650kg in weight (with battery). Inspire 1 is 436mm in length, 451mm in width, 301mm in height, and 2.935kg in weight (with battery). Voyager 3 is about 700g heavier than Inspire 1, and this difference in weight can be seen during actual flight. While Inspire 1 takes off considerably quicker, Voyager 3 can better overcome wind resistance.
