Inspire 1 is powered on by putting the battery in place then pressing the battery switch twice. When the light comes on, you will hear a beeping sound, and the indicators on the rear end will start to flash green. Then the quadcopter is ready to fly. It takes shorter time to turn on the power button and prepare to fly for the Inspire. Because of the additional battery switch and camera power button, the process is a little more complicated for the Voyager.



Inspire 1 is relatively easier to take out of the case and prepare to fly. The Inspire has different case storage and flight preparation modes. For storage, the propeller arms which act as landing gear must be folded out, and to prepare for flight, the propeller arms must be folded downwards. This can be done using the flight controller or the dedicated app.

Once the arm is set to flight mode, turn off the power and connect the camera and propellers. The earlier models had twist-on type props but had problems with propeller detachment during flight. Since then, changes have been made to the more solid twist lock mounting interface.



For Voyager 3, the propeller arm must be connected to the body after taking the main drone out of the case. Three fixed screws are used. A tool kit comes with the drone but a dedicated screwdriver is recommended for the assembly. (The fixed screw for propeller arm is hexagonal, 2.5mm size).



The propeller is put together with prop guard and two screws, preventing risk of detachment during flight and subsequent crash.



The camera is mounted in a similar way to Inspire 1. The camera is fit in the same direction as the terminal and then the lock device is secured. Compared to the Inspire, the Voyager is more complicated to piece together in the flight preparation phase but has more sturdy connected parts.



There are differerences in the propellers. Whereas Inspire 1 propellers are made of flexible plastic and have low rigidity, Voyager 3 propellers are made of real carbon fiber and have excellent rigidity.
