각종 확장 슬롯 커버를 열어보았다. 먼저 좌측부터 하드디스크 베이, 무선 네트워크 안테나 베이, 램 확장 슬롯, 그 아래로 배터리 베이 그리고 오른쪽 상단 부분은 미니 PCI 모뎀 슬롯이다. 그리고 중앙 상단에 있는 것이 도시바 전용 확장 유닛을 위한 도킹 단자이다. 에구.. 정신없다.. 빨리 커버 덮고 다음으로~

새틀 프로 6100은 일명 토끼다. ^^;
배터리 성능이 한마디로 보잘것 없다는 말이다. 부속된 리튬이온 배터리는 10.8V 360mAh의 적지 않은 용량의 배터리이지만 15인치의 광시야각 액정과 팬티엄 4 1.7GHz의 높은 클럭을 감당해내기에는 역부족인지 전원관리 없이 풀퍼포먼스로 구동해보니 1시간 30분을 채우지 못하고 쓰러져버린다. 전원관리를 최대로 해도 2시간 사용이 어려우니 배터리 성능은 그야말로 꽝이다.
무겁고 부피가 큰 모델이라 괜찮을까?
천만에~ 모바일 제품의 이름을 달고 세상에 나온 넘이 배터리 성능이 부족해 늘 전원을 찾아 허덕거린다는건 작은 흠이 될 수 없다. 6100의 부족한 배터리 성능은 앞으로 개선되야할 단점중에서 가장 시급한 문제이다.

새틀 프로 6100의 VGA는 최신의 NVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go 칩셋이며 비디오램은 32MB이다. 3D MARK 2001을 사용하여 테스트를 해본 결과 1024*768 32BIT 설정에서 3922점을, 1280*1024 32BIT 설정에서 2759점을 기록했다.
5100시리즈에 사용된 NVIDIA GeForce4 440 Go 비하면 적잖이 떨어지는 수치이지만, 그래도 이정도면 웬만한 최신 3D 게임들이 쌩쌩 돌아갈만한 충분한 성능이다. 피파 2002와 워크3의 경우 1280*1024의 고해상도로 설정하여 실행시켰더니 비교적 끊김 없이 잘 돌아감을 볼 수 있었다.
노트북용 최신 그래픽 칩셋 답게 2D, 3D에서 모두 고른 성능을 나타냈다.
