일단 노트북 위쪽으로 올라오는 열은 CPU 팬이 위치한 키보드 오론쪽부분과 램슬롯에 위치한 왼쪽 팜래스트 부분 정도이다. 디지털 온도계로 측정해보니 가장 심할 때 37.5도를 가리켰다.

노트북 아랫부분의 발열은 조금 심한 편인데 2시간 정도 DVD타이틀을 돌린뒤 온도를측정해보니 51도를 가리켰으며 OS 설치시엔 54도까지 치솟았다. 31mm 바디로 팬티엄 4 2.0GHz의 클럭을 감당하려니 어찌보면 발열이 심한건 당연한 일이게다.

그런 이유로 CPU 부하가 조금이라도 걸릴라치면 쿨링팬이 부지런히 자신의 임무를 수행하느라 분주하다. 쿨링팬이 작동되지 않는 상태에서는 상당히 정숙한 구동을 보여주지만 일단 팬이 돌기 시작하면 꽤나 시끄럽다.



각종 부속들



N610c의 부속물로는 2장의 리커버리 씨디와 1장의 드라이브 씨디, RW 프로그램 씨디, 웨이트 세이버, 포인트 스틱 캡 2개, UTP케이블, 각종 메뉴얼 등이다.

특히 드라이브 씨디의 경우 윈도우 2000 드라이버 자동 실행 기능을 통해 한번에 모든 드라이브들을 잡을 수 있게 되어 있어 별도의 OS를 매우 손쉽게 설치할 수 있다.



N610c에 부속되는 아답타의 크기는 일반 손목시계와 비교해도 큰차이가 없을 정도로 작다. 크기에 비해 무게는 조금 나가는 편이지만 이정도면 늘 휴대하고 다녀도 아무런 불편이 없을 정도이다.



이제 마무리...



N610c를 찬찬히 살펴보니 델과 더불어 미국 컴퓨터 판매 1, 2위를 다투는 컴퓨터 업계의 강자인 '컴팩'의 고급스러운 이름 값이 느껴진다.

무선랜과 1394의 부재, 4200RPM의 하드디스크 등 눈에 띄는 단점들을 가지고 있지만 N610c는 최고 사양의 노트북 중에서도 단연 돋보이는 기종이다. 아직 컴팩코리아에서 정식 출시는 하지 않았고, 정식 출시하더라도 '가격'이 구입에 최대 걸림돌이 되겠지만 말이다.

'고성능'과 '이동성'이라는 두가지 부면을 충분히 만족시켜줄만한 노트북을 찾는 사람이라면 N610c에 주목하기 바란다.
