Next is the Inspire 1 flight controller. Compared to the DEVOF12E, it is more compact in size and simple in design. The controller has only a few buttons but is enough to operate the Inspire. Smartphone and tablet PC are used with the flight controller. The flight controller can hold up to iPad 2 size tablet PCs and features built-in battery. Inspire 1 can be operated by two persons, where one person flies the drone with controller 1 and the other shoots the camera with controller 2.

Both the Inspire and Voyager come with dedicated hard cases. The case for Inspire 1 is about 30 percent larger than that of Voyager 3. Even though the Voyager is bigger and weighs more than the Inspire, the Inspire case is larger because the propellar arms must be detached when storing away the Voyager.

The Voyager 3 case is better in terms of case material and quality. The Inspire has semi-hard case with handles on the side of the case and can be closed up with zippers. The Voyager case is made of aluminum and has more sturdy handles.

For drones, it’s not just their flight performance that is important. Aerial photography plays a key role. Rather than the exterior design or peripherals, the actual flight time, performance and image output determine the true value of drones. Detailed comparison of the flight performance between Inspire 1 and Voyager 3 will be reviewed in the upcoming part two.
